This cookie policy explains how SchoolCentra uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work, remember preferences, or understand how the site is used.

How we use cookies

We group cookies on SchoolCentra as follows:

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to function. They include cookies that remember your analytics consent choice and cookies needed for sign-in and account features. We do not ask for consent for these because they are essential to provide the service you request.

  • sc_cookie_consent — stores whether you have accepted or rejected analytics cookies (duration: up to 1 year).
  • Session and authentication cookies — used when you sign in to manage your account (duration: session or as needed for security).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — protects our contact and school-claim forms from spam and abuse. It may store a short-lived token in your browser while you complete a form and shares your IP address with Cloudflare for security checks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you click Accept analytics cookies on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use SchoolCentra — for example which pages are visited and how users navigate the site. This helps us improve the service.

We do not load Google Analytics unless you give affirmative consent. If you reject analytics cookies, GA scripts are not loaded.

Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.

Maps

On pages that show a map (for example school location and "schools near you" results), we load the Google Maps service so the map can display. Google Maps may set cookies or store data in your browser and shares your IP address with Google to deliver the map. Maps only loads on pages where a map is shown, and only when that page is used. See Google's privacy policy. If you prefer not to use Google Maps, you can avoid the map pages or block cookies for Google domains in your browser.

Managing your preferences

When you first visit SchoolCentra, you will see a cookie banner with two equal choices:

  • Accept analytics cookies
  • Reject analytics cookies

After you make a choice, you can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the site footer.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how some parts of the site work, including sign-in.
